How to Make the Most of Your 24 Hours
Students often say the same thing: they have so much homework and many things to do that 24 hours never feels enough. No one can stop time or slow it down. But some people have inspired others by using the same 24 hours in a way. Whose story do you like the most?
Francesco Cirillo
When I was a university student, I had trouble focusing on my studies. I was easily distracted. One day, I made a small promise to myself: “Can I focus for just two minutes?” I went to the kitchen and picked up a tomato-shaped timer. I set it for two minutes and started reading. When the timer rang, I felt proud. I slowly increased the time. After many tries, I found that working for 25 minutes and resting for 5 minutes was the best for me. This later became a famous time management method. Do you want to try it?
Benjamin Franklin
I wanted to live a good life and become a better person. So I made a list of 13 important values, like silence, order, and cleanliness. I spent time practicing these values every day. Each night, before I slept, I checked how well I followed them. For 50 years, I marked the values I failed to keep and wrote my mistakes in a small black notebook. Later, this notebook became the idea for the Franklin Planner. What values are important to you? Will you spend time practicing them?
