Foodie’s Trip Around the World
Morocco
In Morocco, people eat at small tables and sit on cushions. They do not use forks or spoons. Instead, they eat with their hands, using the thumb and two fingers of the right hand. To use your right hand is important when eating in Morocco. They also use bread to pick up food.
Armenia
A long time ago, people made thin bread on hot stones. This bread is called ‘lavash.’ Lavash is important in Armenia and is on the UNESCO world culture list. At weddings, people put lavash on the bride and groom’s shoulders for good luck.
Indonesia
In Indonesia, there are green pancakes made with a plant called ‘pandan.’ Pandan smells sweet, like vanilla. The pancakes are filled with coconut, brown sugar, and coconut milk.
