Five little peas lived together inside a green pod. They were green, and the pod was green too. One pea said, “Maybe everything in the world is green!” The other peas agreed because they didn’t know anything else. Another pea asked, “Will we stay here forever? What is the world like outside? What will happen when we leave?” The other peas didn’t know what was outside either. After many days, the pod turned yellow. The peas also turned yellow. One pea said, “Now the whole world must be yellow!” The others agreed again. One day, the pod started shaking. “It’s moving!” said a medium-sized pea. “Who will go the farthest?” said the smallest pea. The biggest pea said, “Anything that happens is okay!” Suddenly — CRACK! — the pod opened, and bright light came in! A hand picked up the smallest pea and put it into a pea shooter. POP! The little pea flew through the air. The pea saw people and streets which it had never seen before. Then, the pea stopped. It landed next to a window high up on a tall building.
