World Student Representative Summit
Welcome to World Student Representative Summit!
We have students here from big cities on every continent.
They will tell us about their high school lives.
Let’s start with New York.
Emily, New York
I’m Emily from New York City, the city that never sleeps.
I study at Lincoln High School.
Our schools are full of different cultures, just like our city.
We have the American high school system with four years: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior.
Living in the city, we’re close to museums, theaters, and lots of cultural events.
Lucas, Sao Paulo
I’m Lucas, a high school student from Sao Paulo, Brazil, and I go to Rio Grande High School.
Our high schools are not just about academics; they’re a reflection of the vibrant Brazilian culture.
Our system spans three years, not four like North America.
We have a variety of subjects, and many students participate in cultural events and Carnival celebrations, making it a fun place to learn about Brazil’s rich traditions.
Carlos, Madrid
I’m Carlos from Madrid, Spain, studying at Picasso Arts Institute.
Madrid mixes tradition and creativity.
Our high school lasts four years and is quite relaxed.
We focus on arts and have siestas, showing our easy-going Mediterranean life.
It’s a great place to enjoy Spanish festivals and food.
Hamida, Cairo
I’m Hamida from Cairo, Egypt, studying at Nile Valley High School.
Our high school is three years long.
We study regular subjects and also learn about our religion.
This shows Egypt’s history and culture.
Our school is like a big family, and everyone is very friendly.
Isabella, Sydney
I’m Isabella from Sydney, Australia, studying at Bondi Beach High School.
Sydney is famous for its beautiful beaches and many cultures.
Our high school takes six years, from Year 7 to Year 12.
We work towards the Higher School Certificate (HSC) in the last two years.
We also enjoy festivals and food from around the world.
Rizky, Jakarta
I’m Rizky from Jakarta, Indonesia, studying at Jakarta International School.
We go to high school for three years.
We focus on studies and wear uniforms.
In our culture, we value community and respect.
We enjoy our colorful street food during breaks, which displays the variety of Indonesian food.
