Find out about the following organizations and write down what their focus and efforts are to protect African wildlife. Then introduce it to your friends.
Today, I am going to introduce an
organization named WildAid. They’re a
global conservation crew on a mission to
cut down the demand for wildlife
products. They’re all about stopping the
trade in things like ivory and rhino horn,
especially in places like Africa and Asia
where they’re extremely popular.
So, how do they do it?
• Spreading the word to everyone: They
say “Don’t buy those wildlife products!”
to people.
• Getting celebrities to back them up.
They can say things like “We should be
aware of the consequences of our
consumption.” through different media to
raise awareness.
• Teaming up with governments to put a
stop to illegal wildlife trade.
WildAid is putting so much effort into our
animal friends. Let’s give it up for WildAid,
the wildlife heroes!
Today, I’m going to talk about an organization
called The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
(DSWT). This group is dedicated to protecting
endangered species, especially elephants,
and ensuring their survival in the wild. Their
focus is on combatting poaching, providing
emergency veterinary care, and working on
habitat preservation. So, how do they make a
difference?
Rescuing orphaned elephants: DSWT rescues
and rehabilitates orphaned elephants,
offering them care and a safe place to grow
before eventually releasing them back into
the wild.
Anti-poaching efforts: The organization
works hard to prevent poaching by training
rangers, using technology, and helping local
communities recognize the value of living
wildlife.
Education and awareness: They spread the
word globally about the importance of wildlife
conservation and the threats endangered
animals face.
The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is doing
incredible work to protect wildlife, especially
elephants, and ensure a safer future
for them. Let’s support DSWT, the
heroes of the wildlife world!
