Camel Racing
Horse racing may be a popular sport globally but
camel racing has earned a top spot for entertainment
in countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United
Arab Emirates (UAE). This sport dates back to the 7th
century, but what was once just friendly races
between friends has now turned into a formal sport.
Camels are even bred just for racing. A competition
can have camels racing on tracks 4 to 10 km long and
at speeds up to 40 km per hour! Winners can receive
some great prizes.
