Seaweed Nature’s
Superhero

Did you know that the green substance of seaweed has the ability to act as
a carbon sink?
Think of it as the tree’s underwater cousin.

“South Korea Cooks Seaweed for the Planet.”
This was the title of an article
published by the prominent French daily newspaper Le Monde in 2019.
It is
understandable that Korea, a country in which its people eat a lot of seaweed such
as kim and miyeok, was mentioned as a representative of seaweed consumption,
unlike the West, which finds the texture of seaweed unappealing.
But why did the
expression “for the Planet” come first?
Think of it as the tree’s underwater cousin.

<think of A as B>는 ‘A를 B로 생각하다[여기다]’라는 뜻이다.

It is understandable that Korea, a country in which its people eat a lot of seaweed such as kim and miyeok, was mentioned as a representative of seaweed consumption, unlike the West, which finds the texture of seaweed unappealing.

This allows them to see shadows and contours that nonartists would miss.

allow는 to부정사를 목적격보어로 취하는 동사이며, that은 목적격 관계대명사로서 절을 이끌어 shadows and contours를 꾸며 준다.

According to various research studies, the difference lies in the structure and functioning of the brain between artists and non-artists.

The results showed that brain areas involved in drawing are more enhanced in artists than in non-artists.

brain areas와 involved in drawing 사이에 <주격 관계대명사+be동사>인 that[which] are가 생략되어 있으며, involved in drawing은 brain areas를 꾸며 주는 형용사의 역할을 한다.

This was the title of an article published by the prominent French daily newspaper Le Monde in 2019.
It is understandable that Korea, a country in which its people eat a lot of seaweed such as kim and miyeok, was mentioned as a representative of seaweed consumption, unlike the West, which finds the texture of seaweed unappealing.
But why did the expression “for the Planet” come first?
